If you’re planning on hitting the stores tomorrow, here are a few tips before heading out.
Leave the kids at home, shop with a friend and if possible use cash. Why? Because it will make you think twice whether you really need that item. It’s always a good idea to ask yourself if you already have something at home that will do the same thing.
Even better than cash – discounted Gift Cards. They’re more than just last minute gifts for other people. All year most stores will have specials on gift cards for other stores, with savings of up to 25 per cent.
Also, especially this year, some of the best, most discounted items have already been on sale for the past week. Why brave the crowds on Black Friday when you could pick up the item for the past week at your leisure?
Do your research. It’s never been easier thanks to the internet. You can check the historical prices online for Amazon at sites like camelcamelcamel. The forums at Redflagdeals are a great place to read about whether something is a deal or not. And there are so many price comparison sites in Canada now like Shopbot.ca, Pricegrabber.ca and Shoptoit.ca just to name a few.
Have a plan before you start, with the most wanted items tops on your list. And have your list in one hand and your phone in the other and price check in the store, because not everything on Black Friday is a deal.
