A 78-year-old man from Cape Breton who went missing over a year ago has been found dead.
RCMP did not reveal his name, but it has been confirmed, it was the body of Derek Kruger who was reported missing October 3, 2023.

Kruger left his home in Richmond County in late September of last year and was planning to visit his son in Texas.
He was reported missing after he never arrived and his vehicle was found shortly after in Greenfield, Colchester County.
In a release on Friday, police say his remains were found by a hunter in the woods in Greenfield, close to where his abandoned vehicle was parked.
The death is not believed to be suspicious, but police say the investigation is ongoing.
