BPS Charge Woman With Drug Trafficking Offences

Failing to appear in court has landed a local woman in further trouble after she was arrested and then found with illegal and prescription drugs.

According to the Bridgewater Police Service, Melissa Young was arrested for Failure to Comply with Appearance Notice or Summons early around 1 a.m. Friday morning.

During the arrest, police discovered Young was in possession of illegal substances including; cocaine, methamphetamine, buprenorphine, and methylphenidate (commonly known as Ritalin).

She now faces four charges of Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking.

Young appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court this morning. She was allowed to leave police custody on a release order and she will return to court on September 8.
