Provincial officials are saying stay close to home.
Premier Iain Rankin and Dr. Robert Strang made the announcement Sunday afternoon.
Strang says do not travel outside of your community unless it’s essential.
“If you live up in Inverness, stay within Inverness. If you live in the Berwick area, stay in the Berwick area.”
Strang says this doesn’t apply to those travelling to work or if you have a legal appointment.
He says there’s a COVID cluster in Cape Breton after hockey games in Membertou.
Public Health will release more details later Sunday.
The Premier also announced fines are going up.
If you exceed gathering limits, you will receive a $2000 fine.
