Bridgewater council to vote on closing old bridge for event

Bridgewater Town Council unanimously approved shutting the olf bridge to accommodate the white party, though the date was moved to June 15.

Bridgewater Town Council will vote on closing the old bridge for an event in June at tonight’s meeting.

Details Events and Design Studio has submitted an application requesting the bridge be closed on June 14th to accommodate a dinner party in support of the South Shore Health Services Foundation.

Their request indicates the bridge would need to be closed starting at 1:00 p.m. for setup until the event ends at 9:30 p.m., or slightly later with clean up.

If approved, the event would host around 125 people on the bridge for a “white party” with fine dining.

The province has already approved, so councils’ decision is the final hurdle before the event gets fully greenlit.

More details on the proposed event can be found in the latest council agenda package.
