Bridgewater: Former Councillor Wootten Passes Away

A former town councillor in Bridgewater has passed away.

The town announced on its Facebook page that Ken Wootten died Sunday from complications due to COPD.

Wootten served on council between 1997 and 2004 and was considered an active volunteer in the community.

Carroll Publicover served with Wootten and says he enjoyed working with him.

“He was a dedicated councillor who always did his homework; always had a lot of compassion in his decision-making and thinking; he was a team player and a nice gentlemen,” says Publicover.

“He was a calm individual that thought things through and never really lost it. He always thought things through well and had a considered opinion, whether it was the same as mine or not, we remained good working companions.”

The flag at Bridgewater’s town hall is lowered at half mast to remember Wootten.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne, and their two daughters.
