Can We Ban Thumbs On Politicians?

Now that the election is over, there’s one other thing I would like to talk about. It’s all those photo ops of politicians posing with their thumbs up. Maybe we can give it a rest?

Really, things might not be that bad, but they’re not all great either. It’s not always a thumbs up kind of day. You’d never know that from most photos of people running for office.

It just seems that every time someone points a camera at a politician, their thumb pops up. Like somehow that is supposed to convince us that all is right with the world. Maybe it’s just me, but it drives me nuts. There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. All is not right, so put the thumb down and get to work.

Hopefully, we have a few more years before another election, so they have time to work on this. Find a different pose.

I suppose we could pass a law, forcing all politicians to have their thumbs removed or somehow attached to their index fingers so they can’t just pop them up in the air whenever a camera lens turns their way. But for that we’d have to depend on politicians. And they’d probably just smile and give it a thumbs up.
