Maybe it’s just me, but I have been noticing a lot of family groups around lately. It could also be the late spring. But young animals seem to be appearing quite a bit these days.
I had a family of geese float by over the weekend. It seemed to be a fairly large group, but it surprised me that it seemed to be an extended family. Most family groups of critters seem to try to move the yearlings out, but these seem to have one with them, since one of the birds with adult coloring is noticeably smaller (and fuzzier). So it looks like at least this group is hanging out as an extended family.
