A recent survey by Field Agent indicates many Canadian grocery shoppers are preparing for financial challenges in 2025.
The survey, which included 885 respondents, highlights significant concerns about inflation and unemployment.
According to the survey, 70 per cent of respondents expect inflation to rise in 2025, while 61 per cent anticipate an increase in unemployment.
The survey found that Costco is the top grocery store choice, with 58 per cent of respondents naming it among their top three preferred retailers.
Walmart and Superstore also ranked highly, completing the top three.
Field Agent’s survey also revealed that Canadians prioritize stores offering good deals, loyalty programs, and convenient locations.
Walmart is the preferred choice for quick shopping trips, while Costco is favoured for larger stock-up purchases.
Additionally, 25 per cent of Canadians expect to spend more on groceries in 2025.
The survey suggests that shoppers are seeking better prices, improved product quality, and greater convenience from their retailers in the new year.
