Montreal Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur has died at the age of 70.
His sister confirmed his passing in a post on Facebook this morning.
Nicknamed ‘The Flower,’ Lafleur led Montreal to five Stanley Cups in the 70s, and won two league-MVP awards.
He played 17 seasons in the NHL for Montreal, the Rangers and Quebec Nordiques.
He is the all-time leading scorer for the Canadiens, racking up 1,246 points over 14 seasons.
Lafleur was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988.
The entire Montreal Canadiens organization is mourning the loss of legendary Hall-of-Famer and Canadiens Ambassador Guy Lafleur, who passed away at the age of 70.
