A resident of Wallace, Nova Scotia, has been charged with causing an animal to be in distress under section 26 (1) of the Animal Protection Act of Nova Scotia.
On June 8, 2023, the Nova Scotia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) received a complaint regarding the abuse of a dog in the Wallace area. Following an extensive investigation, the authorities successfully located both the dog and the individual allegedly responsible for the mistreatment. As a result, the dog was seized, and the accused has been issued an appearance notice to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on September 25, 2023.
This case of an abused dog serves as a reminder to the community to remain vigilant and report any suspected incidents of animal abuse. Timely reporting enables individuals to contribute to ongoing efforts aimed at protecting the vulnerable and voiceless members of our society.
