Charges laid in fatal 2024 crash near Wolfville

Kings District RCMP have charged a Kentville man in connection with a fatal five-vehicle collision that happened last October on Highway 101 in Wolfville.

The crash claimed the lives of a 62-year-old woman and a child, both from East Kingston. A third person in the same vehicle, a 40-year-old woman, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened near Exit 10 around 8:30 a.m. on October 12, 2024. First responders from police, fire, and EHS attended the scene.

Following a months-long investigation supported by RCMP collision reconstruction and forensic identification teams, police arrested a 52-year-old man from Kentville on May 16.

He faces ten charges:

  • Two counts of criminal negligence causing death

  • Three counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm

  • Five counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance

He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on July 9.
