Chester reappoints Allen Webber as Warden

The Municipality of the District of Chester appointed Allen Webber for another term as Warden during the first meeting of the new council.

Webber was first elected to Chester council in 1982, and has previously served eight terms as Warden.

The position of Warden is voted on at large by all councilors, with each councilor being given one vote to cast, which they can use to vote for themselves if they wish.

The vote was done in camera, so the amount of votes received by Webber is unknown but it was enough to defeat Distirct 1 Andre Veinott who was the only other councilor nominated.

Councillor Abdella Assaff from District 5 was the sole nominee for the role of Deputy Warden, and was appointed to the position.
