Many years ago on a trip to Scotland I discovered the ultimate sandwich in a fish and chip shop in Edinburgh. A Chip Butty. French fries in a hamburger bun. Butty is Welsh for sandwich and of course chips are French fries.
Back here in Canada I like to use thin sliced sandwich bread instead of a bun and I try to have some HP sauce to put on the fries in the sandwich.
But while we are talking about “crazy” sandwiches, have you head of the “toast” sandwich?
You take a thinly sliced piece of white bread, toast it, then smoosh it flat and put it between two slices of untoasted white bread.
I’ve never tried one. But I might.
