Decision On Pool Openings Up In The Air

When it’s hot and humid out, taking a cooling dip in a pool sounds just about right.

However, there has been no news on the re-opening of the outdoor pool or the LCLC pool and the decision is likely to take a while, said Bridgewater Mayor David Mitchell.

“Council will be making a decision June 8 on the outdoor pool. Right now we can’t do anything because nobody can gather in groups of more than five, if that’s even possible to manage in a pool,” he said.

The outdoor pool usually opens for the season July 1, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic most scheduled events have been cancelled.

Mitchell serves on the LCLC Board and he says it’s a wait and see game for re-opening of the LCLC pool as well.

“We are waiting for a head’s up from the province so we don’t have any answers to our questions,” he said.
