The Town of Bridgewater will have to shell out more money to get its off-leash dog park back on track.
The more than $100,000 project near Glen Allen Drive was halted this spring after soil didn’t meet environmental standards.
It will take between $20,000-$50,000 to remove the contaminated soil and put new grass in.
Tim Hiltz, Environmental Services Manager says they want to make sure they get it right this time.
“So that material will be removed from the site, it will be returned to the original pile and that pile will be disposed of at a later date.”
Hiltz says the fix means dog owners could have to wait until 2017 to check out the completed park.
