Upper Clements Park To Soon Be Demolished

A landscape of a former amusement park in the Annapolis Valley is about to change.

The Municipality of the County of Annapolis has issued a request for proposals for demolition and clean-up of the former Upper Clements Park, which closed in 2019.

Warden Alan Parish says the property is dangerous and unsightly.

“We’ve given a notice to the current landowner that it should be be cleaned up. In the meantime, we have a right, if we need to, to clean it up ourselves,” says Parish.

The RFP gives two options, either full demolition or the removal of some of the rides from the property, so they can be sold.

Parish says the municipality will make a decision once they get the responses from the RFP, which is open until December 6th.

The future of the site could include a private boarding school.
