Chris d’Entremont is the new Member of Parliament for West Nova.
A former cabinet member in the Rodney MacDonald PC government d’Entremont resigned as the MLA for Argyle-Barrington this summer to run federally.
A Conservative candidate, d’Entremont won almost 40 percent of the vote.
He says he spent a lot of time knocking on doors during the campaign to get out the vote.
“This is a large riding if you consider that it is five provincial constituencies. There’s a lot of different interests in here. Lots of different people that you have to get out and get moving.”
d’Entremont defeated Liberal Jason Deveau by over 1,300 votes.
He says members of all parties have the goal of improving the lives of Nova Scotians and they need to get down to the business of working together to make it happen.
