Despite weather, Shelburne’s Giant Pumpkin Festival a success

A 1,250 pound pumpkin was the largest at Shelburne’s Giant Pumpkin Festival.

Francis Campbell grew it, and won this year’s competition.

Craig Swim took second place, and Leah Swim was in third.

Because of poor weather, Saturday’s regatta was moved to Sunday.

Curtis Brewster of Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick was the first of 15 pumpkins over the finish line at the waterfront.

He was followed by Brandon Blades of Clark’s Harbour and Katherine Neily of Paradise, Annapolis County.
