Did you know Rita MacNeil released an ’80s pop tune? Listen here!

We all know the amazing Rita MacNeil, the powerhouse singer and entertainer from Big Pond, Nova Scotia! Her singing career began later in life, but during the 1980s and into the ’90s, she was outselling huge stars like Garth Brooks here in Canada.

Rita had a style all her own, though she was mostly categorized as a country artist. However, she did explore pop and rock sounds from time to time. One particular tune really stands out, it’s called “Doors of the Cemetery,” and it was released on her 1988 Reason to Believe album.

It didn’t get much attention when it first came out, but I think it’s a cool track, and definitely not the kind of song you’d expect Rita to be singing! Have a listen below!
