Discounts coming for buying local produce in Nova Scotia

Imagine buying directly from local farmers and receiving a discount.

That is becoming a reality for Nova Scotians, according to the government.

They say the Nova Scotia Loyal program will soon offer a 10 per cent discount when buying locally grown, fresh food from participating producers.

“With this new program, our government is making it more affordable for Nova Scotians to buy from local farmers and producers,” said Colton LeBlanc, Minister of Growth and Development.

“When we buy local, we strengthen our communities, support jobs and keep more dollars in our provincial economy.”

Consumers will start seeing the discount during this year’s season.

Farmers wanting to participate in the program can apply now.
