Yesterday I saw an article that really caught my attention and it got me thinking of the possibilities. What if there was always a plan before the complaint? Are we too quick to jump to “if only we had the money”??
Think about that, you see something you want or get frustrated at something you have that lets you down and the go to is essentially that more money would better the situation. But is that the real fix? Not gonna lie, I have thought about the what ifs, should a lotto win come along. But I think any “fix” from money would have to come with plans to sustain that lifestyle.
The article that got me thinking about this is the response from the billionaire that was called out to end hunger. Elon Musk is worth approximately 300 billion dollars. That is a lot! I can’t say that I agree with things like recreational space travel when people are wanting livestock farming banned because “cow flatulence will destroy the environment”, but that is a whole other topic. His response however, when called to task around world hunger was great.
The executive director of the UN World Food Program, David Beasley challenged the richest person in the world to donated 6 Billion dollars to end world hunger and Musk said sure. WOW, hunger ends with that! The returned ask was, for a plan to be presented to show how that money will solve the problem.
Now I assume there is an essay on the top shelf at the UN office explaining what needs to be done to end world hunger. There are TV commercials that have aired for years, and the conversation has always been based on a need for more money.
I really hope there has been thought given to a planned fix because if so, we could see hunger in the world end very soon and that would be incredible.
