Dreaming Of A White Christmas

I I not a huge fan of snow, mostly because I don’t like moving it out of my driveway, but I do like a bit on the ground for Christmas. It makes the day seem more special somehow.

Now there are limits. I also don’t like the idea of spending all Christmas day with a shovel in my hand. There are presents to be opened and many different types of food to be eaten. But while I’m stealing another piece off the turkey, it is nice to look out over the new fallen snow. And I still want the ability to be able to travel around and visit family. So just a little snow would be nice.

It’s not often that it happens any more. But it is possible. Although it doesn’t look good at this point.

I’ve been looking at long range forecasts, which of course can, and will, change. While there could be a tiny dusting of snow over the coming days, it looks like the couple days before Christmas are expected to be a bit above zero and may bring us a little rain. Actually, Christmas eve was saying “mixed precipitation”, but when you see a temperature of 6 degrees, I’m thinking it will be a bit more on the wet side.

Of course weather prediction is never easy and things can change fairly quickly. But even long range forecasts have gotten better in recent years.

So it’s not looking good for a white Christmas. But it could change.
