Driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol has landed charges against a Lunenburg County man.
RCMP say they learned the man was driving impaired during the evening of August 21.
They located the vehicle around 9:20 p.m on Highway 208 in Nineveh and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver showed signs of impairment and was taken to an RCMP detachment for a drug recognition expert evaluation, leading to his arrest.
A loaded and unregistered firearm was also found while police searched the vehicle.
Forty year-old Kaz Henry Cox of East River has been charged with driving impaired by both alcohol and drug and multiple firearms offences.
The RCMP say the charges are Impaired Operation of a Conveyance by a Combination of Alcohol and Drug, Possession of a Firearm without a License, Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited and Transporting a Firearm in a Careless Manner.
He was held in custody and recently appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court.
Cox was remanded into custody until his next appearance on September 4.
