Election Day 23: Health, Dogs and Canvassing

The three major party leaders will be pounding the pavement today in the 23 day of the provincial election.

Liberal Leader Iain Rankin will be making an announcement about health infrastructure, at noon, at Victoria Park in Halifax.

Rankin will spend the afternoon canvassing throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality.

PC Leader Tim Houston discussed dog adoptions in Halifax this morning at the Mainland Commons Off-Leash Park.

Houston will be making stops in the South Shore this afternoon. After campaigning in Lunenburg, he’ll visit Lunenburg West, Queens and Shelburne.

NDP Leader Gary Burrill is campaigning in Halifax today. He’ll be holding media availability at 1;15 p.m. and will be canvassing with Lisa Lachance in Halifax Citadel.

Burrill spoke at the Owls Head Rally yesterday. The NDP say their government would stop the sale of the park.

“Iain Rankin and the Liberal government have not been upfront about Owls Head. They tried to sell the land in secret and won’t commit to protecting it now,” said Burrill. “The people of Nova Scotia want to see the land protected, not sold off to an American billionaire who wants to build a golf course.”
