4-H is a youth organization dedicated to helping young people from ages 7-21 build confidence, leadership skills, and practical knowledge through hands-on learning. 4-H Nova Scotia provides youth with meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.

The 4-H program is built on a “learn to do by doing” approach. Members can take part in a wide range of projects, both livestock and life skills, that have something for all interests. Project areas include agriculture, food and nutrition, science and technology, skilled trades, environment, arts, and leadership development. Through these projects, members set goals, work as part of a team, and develop valuable life skills, all while being supported by dedicated leaders and volunteers.
Leadership is at the heart of 4-H. Members are encouraged to challenge themselves through public speaking, community involvement, and leadership roles within their clubs and beyond. These experiences help members build communication skills, responsibility, resilience, and a strong sense of self-identity.

4-H Nova Scotia is about positive youth development. Through fostering confidence, curiosity, and a sense of achievement, the program helps young people become engaged citizens who are prepared to contribute to their communities, both now and in the future.
You can find 4-H members at Exhibitions throughout the Summer with their projects on display! If you are interested to learn more about 4-H in Nova Scotia, check out the website, www.4hnovascotia.ca, or our Facebook page, 4-H Nova Scotia.
