Feds Set To Axe PCR Tests For Short Trips

Looks as though the federal government will be changing border rules for returning Canadians.

In a report first coming from La Presse, sources say that Canadians will eventually have to no longer provide a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test after returning from trips that are shorter than 72 hours.

These tests can cost anywhere from $150 – $300 on the north side of the border, but many pharmacies in the US are giving them for free from state funded programs.

A formal release is expected to come from the government in the coming days.
