Fire marshal continues investigation into house fire that killed woman, three children

The investigation continues into the cause of a house fire that claimed the lives of a woman and three children over the weekend.

The blaze destroyed a home in Auburndale on the South Shore early Saturday morning.

The remains of a 33-year-old woman, an 11-year-old, a 9-year-old, and an 8-year-old were found inside the home.

Autopsies have been completed by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office.

A 36-year-old man and a 4-year-old child escaped.

The Mounties do not believe the fire to be suspicious based on the evidence gathered.

The Nova Scotia Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing the investigation.
