First ever hockey medal for N.S. at Canada Games

History was made for Team Nova Scotia at the Canada Winter Games.

Our female hockey team made it all the way to the gold medal game after upsetting Ontario in the semifinal Saturday night.

They fell to B.C. in the championship game, but the silver is the first ever medal for our province in hockey.

Our male curling team won gold yesterday.

We won 24 medals at the games in PEI, the most ever for our province at a single winter games.

Our flag-bearers at Sunday’s closing ceremony were Emma Archibald of Fall River (Para-Nordic) and Thomas Ashton of Halifax (Badminton).
