First Responders Bring In A Big Haul With Food Drive

While many people may have had the weekend off, first responders did not. Even more impressive is the first responders who were off and took part in the annual Haul A Day Food Drive.

First responders annually get together and collect non-perishable food items and donations in support of the Inter-Church Food Bank, which serves all of Lunenberg County.

This year’s drive was incredibly successful. Over $20,000 in non-perishable food items were collected along with around $1,100 in cash donations.

Nicole Monahan a primary responder with EHS took part in the event and says it’s important for emergency responders to be involved in their communities aside from their jobs.

“Often when people see us it’s at a very bad point in their lives so this is a good way to change that. I think it’s a great way to serve our community and give back during the Holidays.”
