Fisheries officers helped save a pod of 15 pilot whales in Cape Breton on Monday.
Staff from the Department of Fisheries were able to rescue them after a weekend of ups and downs.
Reports suggest up to 14 whales were beached on Sunday in Port Hood.
About 50 people showed up after a group of teens spotted the whales.
They were able to save three of them but 11 passed away.
