Fishermen’s ER Running on Reduced Hours For Ten Days

Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg has announced their ER will be operating at reduced hours over the next 10 days.

Starting on August 7 the ER will be open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. as opposed to their normal hours of 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

The ER will resume normal hours of operation on August 16.

According to Nova Scotia Health, the reduced hours are a result of staff availability.

During the reduced hours’ anyone who would typically use Fishermen’s Memorial Hospitals ER is asked to call 911 if they require emergency medical care. Any non-medical emergency-related questions can be answered by calling 811, which is operated by registered nurses.
