So this morning I am thinking food related thoughts. Still thinking about the great food Alicia and I got to enjoy at the Fish Shack in Lunenburg and also since today is French Fries Day. But then I see that the “Snickles” trend is continuing. Have you tried them yet? I love the Snickers chocolate bars and I am a huge pickle fan, but I have never thought of them together.

Then there is the big dilemma around wieners and buns. The numbers are off according to some, but I can’t say that I agree. 10 hotdogs in a pack and only 8 buns makes perfect sense to me. Don’t look at me with that tone of voice, here is why. If you are BBQing hotdogs, you have to test one to make sure they are good. There is also the potential unrecoverable wiener droppage, or the unrecognizable wiener burn. In either case the dog will likely have that one, or it gets drifted in the woods. With the 10 to 8 packaging, you still look like grilling royalty when you present the 8 hotdogs on buns to the table.
But not everyone sees it this way, and as a result petitions are being started to adjust the packaging of hotdogs and buns to match.
10 wieners per pack, but only 8 buns per bag. Hotdog council calls for a fix
All I can say is careful what you wish for. You will feel bad when cooking goes wrong, you have to feed one of the buns to the birds as a result and then only have 7 hotdogs in buns to bring to the table…
