Forest products added to N.S. loyal program

It will be easier to pick out what forest products are made here at home when they are added to the Nova Scotia Loyal program.

Minister of Natural Resources, Tory Rushton says, the province wants to make it clear when buying local.

“That’s why we’re adding Nova Scotia Loyal branding, so consumers can choose local lumber and other forest products.”

Rushton says to be eligible, forest products need to be grown, harvested, crafted or made in Nova Scotia and will be labeled in stores.

Lumber, wooden mouldings and wood pellets are examples of what could be included.

The province says producers can enroll in the program and be approved automatically.
