Some schools cancelled or delay opening due to freezing rain

Take your time heading to work this morning.

A freezing rain warning remains in effect in Halifax, Lunenburg and Queens counties, along with the Valley.

Schools in the Halifax, Chignecto-Central and Annapolis Valley Regional Centres for Education will delay opening by two hours.

Also, schools in Guysborough and Antigonish Town and County are closed, and schools in Lunenburg county.

Environment Canada says it’s expected to change to rain as temperatures rise this morning.

According to Nova Scotia 511, many roads in the Valley especially were partly covered with ice overnight.

There are also a couple of power outages this morning, one affecting the Truro/Bible Hill area, the other in the Valley near Canning.
