Freezing rain is wreaking havoc on travel in Nova Scotia
Halifax Stanfield International Airport says all aircraft operations are temporarily suspended until the weather improves.
They say crews are working to resume regular operations, and they encourage customers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
The weather has caused numerous collisions on the province’s highways and roads.

A messy start to the week for the province.
Freezing rain warnings are in effect from Environment Canada.
Meteorologist Ian Hubbard says it will last through the afternoon and into the evening for some areas.
“Many areas will see as much as four to six hours of freezing rain before temperature warm up later and the precipitation changes over to rain,” said Hubbard.
The freezing rain started in the morning over western Nova Scotia, and will reach Cape Breton by Monday evening.
Rainfall warnings are also in place for Yarmouth to Guysborough counties.
Up to 25-40 millimetres of rain is expected Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning.
Northern Inverness County also has a Les Suêtes Wind warning in effect, gusts could reach 140 kilometres an hour.
Meanwhile, Canada Post has issued a red service delivery alert for Yarmouth, and a yellow alert for Bridgewater and Kentville.
A red service alert means no delivery is expected that day, while a yellow alert means mail carriers will do their best in adverse winter conditions.
With freezing rain warnings issued across Nova Scotia, it’s important that you prepare properly.
