Halifax Tides FC to bring pro women’s soccer to N.S.

Halifax’s professional women’s soccer team now has a name.

They’ll be called the Halifax Tides Football Club, and play in the newly formed Northern Super League.

In a release from the league, they say the Tides are working with the city on an agreement to use the Wanderers Grounds as their home field,

Play is expected to begin next spring.

The new logo features the shape of a naval ship surrounding the badge, along with colliding tides and the moon.

It also has four stripes, signifying Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford and Halifax County.

Other teams in the league include Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary and Vancouver.
