9 or 10 weeks into this quarantine, I’m noticing some changes about myself. Major changes, I think.
It’s made me a wuss.
I can’t handle ultraviolent or toxic videogames like I used to enjoy. I tend to choose fun, goofy games that I liked many years ago. Pacman and Donkey Kong are two of my current favourites.
Dark, violent movies just don’t do it for me these days. I still like murder mysteries and dramas, but nothing too evil. And for the first time in years I find myself searching out comedies or the new drama/comedy hybrid called dramedies. (Run and Upload are two of my current favourites)
Even my vocabulary has been affected. Here in Canada our PM came out with the word “moistly” a few weeks ago and now a craft brewery has come out with a beer named “Moistly Mosaic”.
Last year I couldn’t figure out why some people can’t handle the word “moist” , and now I am one.
I’m not sure if this is a temporary reaction to all the hits the world, and especially we in Nova Scotia have experienced lately. Or if this is just me re-evaluating the things I want to be exposed to on a daily basis.. Think of it as me taking care of myself with a more gentle life.
What about you? Have you changed in any ways during these tough times?
