Southwest Nova Scotia is set for another scorcher of a day on Tuesday with temperatures forecasted to feel like 37 degrees.
Enviornment Canada Meteroligist Ian Hubbard says it’s almost guranteed that their heat warning will be extended through Tuesday. “Heat warnings are put in place any time temperatures reach or exceed 29 degrees celcius or humidex values of 36 degrees celcius for two consecutive days,” Hubbard explained.
Monday saw temperatures along the South West part of the province reach a high of 33 degrees celcius which felt like 38 with the humidity.
When conditions get like this Hubbard advises people to stay hydrated, avoid working outdoors during the hottest parts of the day and to use sunscreen.
Environment Canada is forecasting temperatures to cool off a bit starting Wednesday. Although Temperatures are still expected to reach 27 degrees Celcius the humidity is not expected to be as significant and there is also rain and wind in the forecast which will help cool things down.
