Here’s How To Apply For The NS Heat Rebate

The NS heating rebate is open to anyone who is eligible! You can get $400 to go towards heating costs as it gets colder. You can see if you’re eligible below!

You’re eligible if:

  • You live alone and have a 2024 net income of $30,000 or less
  • You live in a household with others and have a combined net income of $45,000 or less
  • You receive Income Assistance or the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)

You must pay for your own heat, whether you rent or own your home. Eligible heating sources include oil, electricity, natural gas, wood, pellets, coal, etc.

It’s lower this year, last year it was $600 now it’s dropped to $400 also less people qualify!

Income thresholds lowered:

  • Single-person households must now earn under $30,000 (down from $35,000).
  • Families must earn under $45,000 (down from $55,000).
