A survey about the housing needs of people on the South Shore has officially closed.
The South Shore Housing Action Coalition has been asking people about what challenges they’ve faced when trying to find a home.
Coalition member Nancy Green says housing is one of the biggest local issues.
“It can have an impact because we see people leaving the community,” she says, “because they can’t find a place that is affordable. It’s certain populations that are facing challenges and I think that it’s important the community explore that.”
Green says the survey results along with stories collected during recent public meetings are being turned over to a consultant for analysis.
A final report is expected this summer.
