Hundreds of pharmacists recruited to N.S. in past 2 years: PANS

Hundreds of pharmacists have been recruited to Nova Scotia over the last couple of years thanks to an international initiative, according to the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia (PANS).

The organization says RxNS launched in December 2023, and since professionals from the U.S., New Zealand, Australia, Great Britain and Ireland have come here, with the help of a full-time recruitment navigator.

The initiative has brought in 103 licensed pharmacists, 105 additional professionals who are in the process of immigrating and 69 who are currently practicing.

Allison Bodnar CEO of PANS says, the initiative has been incredible.

“Communities across the province have welcome internationally trained pharmacies into their pharmacy teams where they are needed most,” says Bodnar.

PANS says more recruitment initiatives are planned for 2026.
