IWK receives donation for Breast Health Research Unit

Two million dollars to help breast cancer patients in Nova Scotia.

The IWK Foundation says they’ve received the donation from the J & W Murphy Foundation for a Breast Health Research Unit.

It will be located at the hospital, and will collect data provincewide on experiences of patients from diagnosis to survivorship

This includes things like quality of life, treatment, and their experience in the healthcare system.

Lisa Murphy with J & W Murphy Foundation says their family is committed to advancing women’s health, and they want to see meaningful and lasting improvements.
