Jacks stay perfect in home opener

The South Shore Lumberjacks opened their home schedule in style, skating to an 8-1 win over the Brookfield Elks at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

The victory capped a flawless opening stretch for the team, which entered the game undefeated after winning its first three contests on the road.

The Lumberjacks were scheduled to face the Capstone Colts on Friday in Shearwater, but that game was postponed due to ice conditions.

With the weekend win, the Jacks remain unbeaten and are currently first in the standings as they prepare for their next matchup on home ice.

They’ll host the Windsor Oxen this Saturday night at the LCLC.
