A water main burst on King Street means the portion of it between Jubilee Road and Park Street will be closed until midnight.
Bridgewater Traffic and Transit tweeted about the incident at 2:30 p.m.
Workers are now on the scene and all non-local traffic is being detoured.
Though the town estimates the street will reopen at midnight workers at the scene said they anticipate finishing earlier than that.
