Kings County wildfire under control

The Lake George wildfire is now under control, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

In a post on X at 5 p.m. Saturday, DNR reported the blaze is responding well to suppression efforts and is not expected to grow beyond the current estimated 288 hectares.

No structures were damaged and the fire is expected to be extinguished before winter conditions arrive.

DNR posted they will use infrared scanning to detect hot spots.

They also expressed gratitude to DNR firefighters, incident management team and other staff, local fire departments, crews from B.C., the County of Kings and other agencies assisting in the effort.
