I learned to swim when I was a kid by taking swimming lessons at a community beach at a lake. I remember taking lessons for several summers in a row.
How did you learn to swim? Did a family member teach you? Was it at a lake or a pool?
I keep hearing stories from people who remember their father or older brother throwing them in the lake and telling them to swim or sink.
And I’ve always wondered if it was true that most commercial fishermen don’t know how to swim.
