Liberal leader Mark Carney in N.S. for election campaign

Liberal Leader Mark Carney is visiting Nova Scotia on Tuesday as he starts his campaign for the snap federal election on April 28.

Carney announced the election on Sunday, after receiving approval from the governor general to dissolve Parliament.

His day begins with a facility tour in Halifax at 9 a.m., followed by an announcement at 9:30 a.m.

Later, Carney will visit facilities in Dartmouth at 10:45 a.m. and Elmsdale at 2:45 p.m.

Carney is focusing his campaign on economic issues, including lowering the marginal tax rate for the lowest tax bracket by one percentage point.

He also emphasized the need to address trade tensions with the United States, calling this election a critical step for Canada’s future.
