Lightning lights up Thanksgiving in N.S.

It wasn’t the Northern Lights brightening the sky this time.

Lightning hung over the western part of our province for much of Thanksgiving Monday.

The show began in the afternoon and went late into the evening.

Reports say there were hundreds of lightning strikes over a few hours.

A rainfall warning was issued in the evening, calling for up to 75 millimetres of rain during heavy thunderstorms.

The warning has since ended.

There were some small, scattered power outages as of early Tuesday morning.
