Lightning Strike Causes Power Outage In Shelburne

A power outage affected residents of Shelburne County this morning.

About 2,900 customers were in the dark at one point, encompassing the Town of Shelburne up to Upper Ohio, down to Gunning Cove, and further southwest down to Port La Tour.

Nova Scotia Power says the cause was a lightning strike around 6 a.m. at one of their substations.

Crews were able to restore power by mid-morning.
